Whatsapp ShutDown Support for These Devices from 2019, Checkout The List

Whatsapp, which is the most used and downloaded messaging app of the world has shut down the support for some old devices from starting of this year. It’s time to upgrade to the latest phone for the peoples which are still using their old phones to access the WhatsApp.

The Whatsapp is used by almost every smartphone user, and the numbers are still rising, the app is popular among users because of its simple and easy to use interface, and it runs very smoothly on any device and uses very fewer resources.

But now because of a very huge userbase it was getting difficult for the developers to provide support for the very old device OS. The devices which run on Nokia S40 software will not be able to run the WhatsApp.

Jiophone users should not worry because their is no news or planning from whatsapp to stop the support for Jiophones.

The company has also confirmed on a blog post that they will also stop the support for devices which runs on Android 2.3.7(Gingerbread), Windows 7 and 8.0 devices, iPhone 3Gs or IOS 6 devices from 1 Feb 2020.

Please note that the above list does not includes every device but you can check that if any of your old phone runs on Nokia S40 software then it will stop supporting Whatsapp.

In Their official Blog Post, WhatsApp says “This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp. Those who own a phone powered by this very platform has no choice but to upgrade their device if they wish to continue using WhatsApp“.

They also added that users will not be able to download or migrate their chat history, which is a bad news for the users. But, they have informed the users of Android 2.3.7(Gingerbread), Windows 7.0 & 8.0 and IOS 6 device users to upgrade their phones because from next year these phones will also not be able to support WhatsApp.

So, share this article to the person who might be using any of these unsupported devices and ask them to upgrade their device if they want to continue using WhatsApp.
